ART * Paintings and Mixed Media Fine Art * Advertising Art * Poster and Greeting Card Design * Medical and Technical Illustration * Litigation Graphics and Trial Exhibits * Cartooning Rebecca Covalt's art has won international recognition. Her paintings hang in countries around the world, including the United States, France, Great Britain, Australia, Switzerland, Germany, Canada, Mexico, and Hong Kong. Her art has appeared on the cover of international editions of Reader's Digest, and her wildlife paintings are featured by the San Diego Zoo. Her wildlife work was enriched by a six month photographic and painting safari in the African bush of Namibia, Botswana, and South Africa during which time she observed animals in their natural habitats. Ms. Covalt has won recognition from the World Wildlife Fund, and endorsement from the San Francisco Art Commission and Walter Cronkite for a project entitled the Mobile Zoo. Her aim is to encourage the creative development of children by exposure to original artwork, and to emphasize the international need for wildlife preservation. Her Mobile Zoo was declared a Project of Merit by the Rolex Awards for Enterprise, selected from among 5,000 international applicants. She has traveled throughout the world, including Africa, Europe, and the Far East. Many of her paintings reflect images gathered during the years when lived in Paris, London, and Africa. She has also lived and painted in the American Southwest and in San Francisco. Born in 1951, Ms. Covalt received her art training at the University of New Mexico, the San Francisco Academy of Art, and the Louvre Museum, Paris, France. She is currently in development of "Buzz Cat the Cat Toon: Mission - Random Cats of Kindness", a panel cartoon to be marketed for world wide syndication. WRITING With a degree in Journalism and master's classes in Professional Writing, Ms. Covalt is also experienced in business and proposal writing, copy-editing and proofreading, grant-writing, and advertising copy. |
